About BlackHole
BlackHole installs a virtual audio device that appears as both an output and an input. Send an app's sound to it and another app can record or process that signal, which is a common building block for screen recordings, podcasts, streaming and audio routing setups.
It is a driver with no interface of its own: you select it in Audio MIDI Setup or in the apps you connect. Installers come from the official site or the Homebrew casks in 2, 16 and 64 channel variants. The source is GPL-3.0, while the official binaries, name and logo are reserved by Existential Audio, and projects that are not GPL-3.0 need a separate license.
