About SensibleSideButtons
SensibleSideButtons turns the side buttons on a compatible mouse into navigation gestures. It targets apps where a simple keyboard-shortcut mapping does not behave like the system's back and forward gesture.
The app runs in the menu bar. The upstream README explains how to add it to login items if you want the behavior available after restarting.
