About AutoMute
AutoMute sits in the menu bar and silences the Mac's output whenever headphones are unplugged or a Bluetooth headset disconnects, and when the Mac goes to sleep, locks or starts its screen saver. The point is to avoid music suddenly playing through the speakers when you open your laptop somewhere quiet.
The developer distributes it through the Mac App Store, where the last update was published in March 2024; the repository holds the MIT-licensed Xcode project for anyone who prefers to build it.
