Free, open-source alternatives to Notion

Notion lets you build pages out of blocks, nest them into a wiki, and turn lists into databases with table, board and calendar views. The open-source apps below share that core idea of a single workspace where written documents and structured information live side by side.

AppFlowy is the most direct counterpart, with documents, databases and board views in a desktop app that works locally. AFFiNE adds an infinite whiteboard to its block-based docs and database views, SiYuan centres on block references and a locally stored workspace, and Logue combines a block editor, typed properties and saved views with on-device meeting transcription. Each keeps your data on your own Mac by default, with optional sync or cloud services described by its project.
