About InVesalius
InVesalius turns a stack of 2D DICOM slices from CT or MRI scanners into a 3D model. It reads DICOM, Analyze, and common image formats, offers threshold presets by tissue type, watershed and brush-based segmentation, volume rendering, and linear, angular, and volume measurements. Surfaces can be exported as STL, PLY, OBJ, and other formats for 3D printing or further modelling.
The interface is available in several languages on macOS, Windows, and Linux. The last tagged release, 3.1.99998, dates from April 2022 and includes Intel and Apple silicon DMGs; newer nightly builds for both Mac architectures are published on GitHub. Treat it as research and education software rather than a certified medical device.
