Lap

Lap catalogues photo and video libraries where they already live, keeping originals as ordinary files in their folders rather than importing them into a closed database. Libraries can be browsed by date, folder, place, camera, tags, ratings or faces, and text, similarity and face search run on the Mac with local models.

It is aimed at large personal collections and adds smart albums, duplicate cleanup, a comparison view for culling, basic edits, a map of geotagged shots, and paired handling of RAW plus JPEG files and Live Photos. The project publishes notarized DMGs for Apple silicon and Intel alongside Windows and Linux builds.
