About MacParakeet
MacParakeet turns speech into text on the Mac. A hotkey starts dictation in whatever app is in front, either push-to-talk or hands-free, and the result is pasted in place; audio and video files can be transcribed separately, and meetings can be recorded with optional calendar reminders. Speech recognition runs locally with NVIDIA's Parakeet models by default, with WhisperKit and other local engines selectable for other languages.
Optional AI clean-up and transforms can use Apple Intelligence or a provider you configure, and a bundled command-line tool exposes the same features to scripts. The project describes it as an app for Apple silicon Macs and ships a notarized DMG.
