Widelands

Widelands is a real-time strategy game in the tradition of The Settlers II, where the focus is on building up a working economy: roads, carriers, production chains and the settlements they feed. Several tribes play differently, and there are single-player campaigns, scenarios, free play against AI opponents and an online multiplayer lobby.

A map editor ships with the game. The code is GPL v2 or later, while some art and sound assets carry their own Creative Commons licences. Official releases include macOS disk images for Apple silicon and Intel.
