About Candela
Candela is aimed at people who want their screens to last. For enrolled panels it keeps a coarse map of where the display has been lit, along with panel hours and per-app time, and its burn-in protection gradually dims bright regions that sit unchanged while live content stays at full brightness. A guided checkup looks for defects and wear and produces a report you can keep.
It also covers external display controls that macOS lacks: brightness, contrast and volume over DDC/CI from the menu bar and media keys, dimming below the hardware minimum, and extra resolutions including HiDPI scaling. Releases are published on GitHub.
