About BetterCapture
BetterCapture records the screen, a window or a selected area from the menu bar using ScreenCaptureKit. It encodes to ProRes 422 or 4444, HEVC or H.264, with alpha and HDR options, can mix system audio with a microphone, and can leave chosen content out of the recording.
A URL scheme lets launchers and Shortcuts start or stop a recording. The project requires macOS 15.2 or later and publishes Apple silicon disk images on GitHub.
