About LICEcap
LICEcap puts a resizable frame over the screen and records whatever happens inside it to an animated GIF, or to its own LCF format. You can move the frame or pause while recording, insert text messages and a title frame, and record mouse button presses, which makes it handy for short bug reports and tutorials.
It comes from Cockos, the makers of REAPER, and each download includes the source. The latest version, 1.32, was released in February 2022; Cockos lists support for Intel Macs and Apple silicon from v1.31 onward. Downloads are on the Cockos website and through the licecap Homebrew cask.
