About OpenScreen
OpenScreen records a window or the whole screen, with microphone, system audio and an optional webcam overlay, and then opens the result in an editor aimed at product demos. Automatic or manual zooms follow the cursor, the cursor itself can be resized and smoothed, and backgrounds, trimming, speed changes, blur regions, annotations and captions are applied before exporting to MP4 or GIF.
The project was started by Siddharth Vaddem, who archived his original repository after version 1.5.0 and pointed users to this continuation, where development carries on under the same MIT license. On macOS it requires version 13 or later for ScreenCaptureKit; the releases page carries separate Apple silicon and Intel DMGs, signed and notarized from 1.9.0 onward. Recordly, also in this catalog, is a separate fork with its own license.
