About OpenDisplay
OpenDisplay creates a virtual monitor on the Mac and streams it to a receiver, so the other device behaves like a real extended display you can arrange in System Settings. iPhones and iPads can connect by cable or Wi-Fi and accept touch input for clicking, dragging and scrolling; mirroring is available too.
Another Mac can act as the screen using the separate OpenDisplay Receiver app. It is a free alternative to Sidecar or subscription display apps; the README documents device and macOS requirements.
